Song of the Week:

Sunny Side Up by Maddie Barker

Introduction

I will start this off with a vow to you, my readers and to myself, to create this blog with integrity. I am not here to teach you something, but maybe you’ll learn something new. The purpose of these posts is to have a conversation with you. In this vast universe, it can be very overwhelming to reach out to people which results in being a closed off individual. It’s like being the fish from The Rainbow Fish, possessing all these pretty, colorful scales but refusing to share any of it because it is too scary to open up and get rejected connections. I have fallen victim to it and on the flip side there are others experiencing the same feeling. From the book, the wise octopus says, “to feel joy in this world, we must share our souls with each other to form beautiful bonds.” Life is full of so many possibilities, there are so many places to explore, so many things to do, so much knowledge to receive and so many people to meet. It is so easy to lose sight of the big picture and lose focus on the beautiful wonders of the world. I want to build a community of all people who have found themselves on the same path as me and join me on this rollercoaster of “Life.” Where I learn to trust the process and dedicate myself to me for once. Thus, I vow to you readers and myself; I will give it my all, 150%.

So, allow me to introduce and welcome you to The Unfinished Times. I am your writer behind the screen here to share my opinions, secrets, and knowledge on the internet. I will bring many topics to you each week on Wednesdays, and they will vary from fitness, to philosophy, to the occasional thought experiments that only exist in a land far, far, far away with all the topics in between. Each entry will be the beginning of starting something new but will never be the end of our conversation. Not everything I will discuss will be for you and that is all right. I just hope I write at least one topic you enjoy. Throughout these topics I want to capture the true essence of things, nature, and dive into the big feelings we all feel. Talking about things I feel like no one enjoys talking about in the weirdest way possible. Almost like a cross between Gossip Girl’s anonymous blogger and a hint of hit show iCarly.com- a blend of unfiltered explorations and unabashed community.

Like music, it is one of those building blocks of connection that I think is not used correctly. Most people ask about your favorite artists or what type of music you listen to and to me that is too board. Don’t get me wrong some artists speak volumes about you as a person but, what about just a song?  I challenge you to consider your top five songs that showcase your music taste. I know there is A LOT out there but without a doubt SUNNY SIDE UP is in my top five. It is her only song out now and it is in my top five. Everything from the lyrics to the beat, to the symbolism; it is quite a symphony. If you have heard this song before, leave a comment of the first time you listened to it and if it yours first time let me know if you enjoyed it.

Anyways, with that, let me exit this first post, inviting you to join me next week for a deep dive about your writer and unveiling of a new Song of the Week. Your journey, my journey, our journey- it’s all part of the Unfinished Times narrative.

Enjoy this journey with me.
